Help us protect the skies of Chile and reduce light pollution.
If you want to help individually:
Use the Glowatch platform to report cases of light pollution. This citizen science tool was developed by the Cielos de Chile Foundation, the Ciluz Foundation, the Center for Astrophysics and Related Technologies (CATA), and the Center for Mathematical Modeling.
Follow these steps and collaborate in the protection of the skies!:
- Go outside.
- Identify sources of light pollution.
- Go to Glowatch.cl.
- Click on the WhatsApp icon.
- Answer the questions.
- Attach a photograph of the case.
- Your report has been created!
If you are part of an organization:
Municipalities, neighborhood associations, companies, foundations, and all types of organizations can contribute to caring for the skies by informing themselves about the New Lighting Regulation and following the principles of sustainable and non-polluting lighting:

- Direction: Light should be directed downward.
- Color: Limit the amount of short-wavelength light (blue-violet) by preferring warm lights.
- Intensity: It should not be brighter than necessary.
